Side Effects/ Interactions / Contraindications
Blackseed Oil is bitter, pungent, and warming in nature. It should be cold pressed, like all essential oils. It is safe for consumption, but may cause allergic reactions.
Caution with pregnancy/ breastfeeding. Speak with a consulting physician. Generally considered safe in children, in small amounts. Bleeding disorders- blackseed may slow blood clotting and increase the risk of bleeding. If you feel a concern coming from the person in-question. You might consider CBD/MCT It is suggested to stop taking Blackseed Oil prior to surgery, generally 2 weeks either side of surgery.
Drug Interactions
Antidiabetic drugs - Blackseed oil may lower blood sugar levels, so monitor blood sugar levels taking with diabetes medications.
Immuno-suppressants - Blackseed can increase immune system activity, so taking with these medications may decrease the effects of medication.
Other drugs which may be potentiated by Blackseed Oil. Blood pressure medications/ sedatives/ Serotonin increasing meds. Always check with customers & clients what medications they are taking.
