What is The Haven?
The Haven is a Private Members Association created in the spirit of restoration, healing, and sacred service. We are a community for individuals and families seeking support, connection, and empowerment - whether they are navigating life after incarceration, recovering from domestic or family violence, healing intergenerational wounds, or simply seeking a safe and supportive community space.
Who can join The Haven?
Our community is open to anyone who feels called to be part of a safe, supportive, and healing environment. This includes people directly impacted by trauma or systemic challenges, as well as allies, practitioners, and community members who want to walk alongside and contribute to our mission.
Do I need to have experienced incarceration or trauma to join?
Not at all. While we hold space for those navigating incarceration, violence, and trauma, The Haven is also a community for anyone seeking connection, healing, or personal growth. Many of our members join to learn, share, and grow together in a restorative space.
What does membership include?
Membership provides access to our digital magazine, community events, workshops, journaling prompts, recipes, rituals, and resources that nurture holistic well-being. Depending on the tier you choose, you’ll also have access to deeper levels of connection, guidance, and community opportunities.
Can I just subscribe to the magazine without joining as a member?
Yes! Our digital magazine, The Haven Magazine, is available as a standalone subscription for $15/month if you’re not ready to join full membership but still want inspiration, guidance, and resources.
How can I support The Haven if I’m not a member?
You can support us by becoming a sponsor, partnering with us as a practitioner, or making a donation to help sustain our community programs and outreach. Every contribution helps us create spaces of healing, growth, and restoration.
Is The Haven a charity or not-for-profit?
The Haven is a Private Members Association (PMA). This means we are a self-governing community that operates outside government systems while still working for the greater good. We are here to serve our members and the wider community with integrity, care, and accountability.
Practical FAQs
How do I become a member?
Membership can be started online by selecting the tier that best suits your needs and completing the membership form. Once submitted, our team will contact you to confirm your membership and provide access to resources, community spaces, and programs.
What are the membership tiers and costs?
We have three membership tiers:
- Gaol Bird - $0: Specifically for individuals who have been incarcerated or are experiencing disadvantage. Members receive The Notebook, The Haven Magazine, and access to one practitioner container. Membership is limited to 5 members at a time and ends once the practitioner container concludes to ensure fairness across the community. Members wishing to continue beyond this container will need to upgrade to a higher-tier membership.
- Regular Membership - $444/month: Includes The Notebook, The Haven Magazine, discounted access to practitioners, access to events/online courses, and discounts on merchandise.
- Elite Membership - $1,111/month: Includes all benefits of Regular Membership plus the opportunity to purchase The Book of Aradia (limited release).
We also offer a standalone digital magazine subscription for $15/month if you don’t want full membership.
How do I access practitioners and services?
All practitioner sessions are conducted either online or in the practitioner’s own space. Depending on your membership tier, you will receive discounted rates or access to one practitioner container as part of your membership.
How long does membership last?
Membership is on a monthly subscription basis, which continues until you choose to cancel. The Gaol Bird tier is time-limited to the duration of the practitioner container.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes. You can cancel your membership at any time. For tiered memberships, cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle, or at the end of your practitioner container if you are currently in one.
Are The Haven events and resources available online?
Yes. Most resources, workshops, and gatherings are accessible online through our secure member portal, so you can participate from anywhere.
Is everything confidential?
Absolutely. Confidentiality and trust are at the heart of The Haven. What you share within the community stays within the community.
Do you offer financial support for members who can’t afford membership?
Yes. We believe healing should be accessible. Subsidised options or sponsorship support may be available depending on circumstances. Contact our team to discuss options.
